Terms of Service

Effective date: July 3, 2026

WorldSimulator is a web application for exploring 5,000+ years of historical data, with AI-assisted features such as ambassador chats, what-if scenario simulations, and comparisons. It is operated by a sole proprietor ("the operator", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Accounts

You sign in with Google OAuth through Supabase. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. We store your email address, display name, and a credit balance with a transaction ledger (token counts per AI request). You must provide accurate information and may not share or sell your account.

2. Credits

AI features consume credits — prepaid digital usage units. A free daily allowance is provided at our discretion. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for currency. Credits do not expire during normal use; they are forfeited only if your account is terminated for abuse under Section 5.

3. Purchases and payments

When purchases are available, payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record. This means Lemon Squeezy is the seller of the credits, and their terms and privacy policy also apply to your purchase. We never receive your card number. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.

4. AI features

Messages and scenario inputs you submit to AI features are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, those inputs and outputs are not used to train models. AI-generated content can be wrong, incomplete, or anachronistic — treat it as an exploratory tool, not a source of record. Ambassador conversations are stored in your own browser (localStorage), not on our servers.

5. Acceptable use

You may not: scrape the service at abusive rates; attempt to bypass or manipulate credit metering; interfere with the service's operation; or use the service for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Termination for abuse forfeits any remaining credits.

6. Historical data and content

The historical and geopolitical data displayed in the app comes from cited public sources, including academic datasets and government statistics. It is provided "as is" for educational and informational purposes only. We make no warranty that it is accurate, complete, or current, and nothing in the service constitutes investment, legal, or policy advice.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Changes to the service or these terms

We may modify the service or these terms. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where reasonable, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
